When disaster strikes, whether from a fire in your home, large scale flooding, severe winter storms, or a hazardous material spill, staff and trained volunteers are ready to help.

The Disaster Action Team assists with shelter, food, clothing, medical assistance, and other basic needs immediately following a disaster and remains available later to offer advocacy and hope.

From July 1, 2004, through June 30, 2005, trained American Red Cross Disaster Services volunteers provided assistance to more than 100 families affected by local disasters in Whatcom County and Skagit Valley.

You, too, can join this elite group of volunteers, simply by becoming a trained American Red Cross Disaster volunteer. To get started, call our Volunteer Services Director or Disaster Services Director today at (360)733-3290.
