The American Red Cross Mental Health team provides support to those directly affected by disaster, friends and relatives of disaster victims, and Red Cross staff and volunteers involved in responding to disasters. The team conducts assessments and provides education, intervention, advocacy, and referrals.

Members of the Mental Health Team are trained professionals and must meet requirements established by the National American Red Cross.
